The Owner-Occupied Rehab Program assists income eligible residents of Cumberland County, who own one to four unit buildings, finance home improvements. The property must be occupied by the owner as their principal residence. Eligible repairs include health and safety issues, lead paint hazards, energy conservation improvements, and other non-luxury building improvements.
This program is designed to provide low interest loans for owners to repair multifamily buildings in the City of Portland. Owners who choose to participate in this program agree to rent and tenant income restrictions for a period of time determined by the amount of funds invested in the project.
The Lead-Safe Housing Program is designed to diminish the risk of poisoning to children less than six years of age. Loans are available both in rental and owner occupied housing where low to moderate income families reside. Priority is given to families with a lead poisoned child and those with a child at risk.
