The Portland Harbor Non-Federal Dredge (NFD) Workgroup is a non-appointed and participatory group of volunteers that seeks to facilitate the dredging of private and municipal piers and wharfs in Portland Harbor, conducted in an environmentally sound, economically feasible, and politically/socially acceptable manner.
The NFD Workgroup is a collaborative effort between the cities of Portland and South Portland and is staffed by the Portland Waterfront Coordinator.
Current participants represent pier owners, lobster fishing, state and federal regulators, the environmental protection community, the Portland Harbor Commission, the Maine Port Authority, and private consulting industry.
Participation is open to all interested parties. Please contact the Waterfront Coordinator if you would like to attend meetings, receive email updates, or contribute to the NFD Workgroup effort.
