2014 CityFit! Wellness Mini-Grant
Awards Announced!!
On May 15, 2014 the City of Portland’s wellness committee, City Fit! announced to City department heads the availability of $5000 in wellness mini-grants. The $5000 sum was divided into 10 mini-grants, 2 for $1000, 4 for $500, and 4 for $250. Each department had the opportunity to apply for multiple grants based on their plans to develop and implement various health and wellness programs and the costs associated with those activities. The application deadline was Monday June 2, 2014.
City Fit! received a total of 17 requests from 11 departments totaling $11,956.27! On June 3, 2014 a subcommittee of City Fit! met to review the applications. Grants were evaluated using the following criteria:
- Impact and number of employees that benefit from the intervention
- Longevity and sustainability of the intervention
- Ability to support employee health and productivity
- Return on investment
