Absentee voting begins october 7

Residents can begin requesting absentee ballots by mail, phone or in person and vote absentee in person beginning October 7, 2019 in the City Clerk's Office. Beginning October 15, people wishing to vote in person can do so in the State of Maine Room on the 2nd floor of City Hall. 

On Thursday, October 31 only, the Clerk's Office will remain open until 7:00 PM for the final day to request an absentee ballot and for in-person absentee voting at City Hall. 

Election Day is Tuesday, November 5. Same day voter registration is allowed at polling places on Election Day. You must provide proof of identity and residency. 

The Department of City Clerk has three major functions:

Elections, Vital Records, and Custodian of the City Council Minutes.
